Pick a zone convenient to your school. If there is no Zone near you, please consider hosting one.
Stage 2 – The National Semi-Finals
Four choices for the Semi-Final stage:
Two-day competitions at Kingswood Activity Centres in Kent and North Wales. One-day competitions in Bristol and Nottingham.
Stage 3 – The National Finals
Two-day Finals in Central London with lunch provided.
Details
This successful competition started in 1969 and is now in it’s 52nd year. It is open to all schools in England, Scotland and Wales. Although the aim is to find the strongest chess-playing schools in the Country, it is intended to be an interesting challenge to schools of any chess-playing ability.
Teams: 5 players – plus 1 reserve

Entry fees
Stage 1: £20 per team
Schools who host a zone are not required to pay any entry fee.
Stage 2:
£120 per team for one-day semi-finals.
£50 per person access pass for two-day semi-finals to include lunch and activities or £200-£250 for two nights accommodation for one adult and one child, to include all activities Friday and Saturday, all meals provided, (dinner Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and pick your own packed lunch on Sunday).
Stage 3: £20 per person (lunch included)
